Once upon a time, I was obsessed with time.

I would make sure I got up as early as possible to cram as much as possible into a single day.

I always felt like I wasn’t getting enough done and wanted to progress much more quickly in business.

I was hungry to work harder and longer to achieve success in life.

My simple conclusion was that if I was awake more hours then I could get more done in a day..

“5 hours of sleep a night would surely be enough”

“Many other business owners get by on that or less”
(or so they say)

The reality was I didn’t need more hours in the day.

I needed to learn how to use my hours better!

I needed to make the shift from trying to be more efficient to trying to be more effective.

Instead of trying to cram more into a day I will just do whats really important.

The things that are going to shift the needle!

When I looked back on how I was spending my time I realised that much of what I was doing in a day could’ve been done by someone else, or worse, didn’t need to be done at all.

A correlation had started to form between my lack of sleep and lack of effectiveness.

The less I slept the less important stuff got done.

My decision making, creativity and motivation went through the floor.

Pretty much the exact opposite to what I had expected from being awake from more hours.

On the back of this realisation it was time to change my approach.

I made the decision that if my body wanted some extra sleep i was going to give it the rest its asking for.

No more alarm clock!

I’ll wake up when I wake up.

Looking back it was one of the best decisions that I made.

I have seen significant improvement on my health, business and happiness since the decision.

Sleep is not an area to be compromised.
